Second Mesh Secures Innovate UK funding

Generative AI is transforming how we study and work, helping us to gather and assimilate information like never before, and enabling us to make better use of the data that surrounds us. But for many organisations, especially those handling sensitive information, most commercial AI platforms simply aren't suitable. They often fail to meet basic safeguarding standards required by schools, colleges, universities, healthcare providers, and government agencies.

Second Mesh is closing this gap. We design private, compliance-ready AI systems for schools, colleges, universities and public sector organisations. Our platform enables these organisations to create AI assistants that make sense of their large stores of text and data, while keeping all data processing secure and under their control.

Built on open-weight large language models, our platform offers transparency and affordability, helping organisations deploy trusted AI quickly and safely.

Through this Innovate UK project, Second Mesh will:

Our goal is to demonstrate that responsible AI can be practical, affordable and powerful, enabling schools, colleges and other public bodies to benefit from Generative AI without sacrificing safety, privacy, trust or control.
